The IEEE University of Chinese Academy of Sciences-Beijing Women in Engineering Student Branch Affinity Group (IEEE UCAS WIE Student Branch) was approved by IEEE WIE on August 26, 2016. This is the very first WIE SB in Mainland China. On the afternoon of October 17, 2016, IEEE UCAS WIE SB successfully held its first education forum in Beijing International Convention Center during the 21st International Conference on Digital Signal Processing (DSP2016) Launched by the Center for Research on Intelligent Perception and Computing (CRIPAC, CASIA).
This education forum was chaired by Ms Fei Liu, the Chair of IEEE UCAS WIE SB from CRIPAC. Dr. Paulina Chan and Prof. Supavadee Aramvith were invited to give their excellent talks about their career development and educational experiences in the view of female researchers. More than 30 researchers, professors and graduate students from different countries attended to the forum. Dr. Paulina Chan is Imperial College Ambassador and the Vice-Chair of Hong Kong Chapter Steering Committee, and Global Mutual Consortium. Prof. Supavadee Aramvith from Chulalongkorn University is focusing on Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications Engineering and now serving as the Educational Activities Coordinator of IEEE R10. All of the attendees were enjoyed in this forum and discussed a lot to share their experiences.
