Tieniu Tan was awarded an honorary doctorate by York University

Recently, the 2016 graduation and degree awarding ceremony of York University was held in Yorkshire, England. Tieniu Tan, researcher of CASIA, was invited to present at the ceremony and awarded an honorary doctorate by York University. After Chunli Bai, Yunhe Pan, Zhu Chen, Tieniu Tan is another scientist in China, who obtained this honor.

Tieniu Tan is the well-known expert in fields of pattern recognition and computer vision, was elected as academician of CAS in 2013, foreign academician of the Royal Academy of Engineering, TWAS in 2014 and Corresponding Member of the Brazilian Academy of sciences in 2015.

Founded in 1963, York University is one of the best research universities in the UK and is a member of the Russell Group. The honorary doctorate of York university is only awarded to experts and scholars who have made significant contributions in respective fields.
